There was that time I travelled to Tunisia with my family as a child - and discovered that in Tunesia little blond girls count as currency. Now this was definitely way more harmless than it sounds, and I am quite sure that this whole "100 camels as payment for your daughter" was really just a compliment - but I still learned to say "go away!" in the local language (y'know, just to be safe in case my folks got any brilliant ideas).
